[New York, NY] An expert in the making of equestrian products since 1837, Hermès is delighted to be a supporter of leading sporting events around the world. In keeping with a long tradition of encouragement for and nurturing of new riding talent, Hermès USA is proud to present the second annual Hermès Talented Young Rider Award to 18 year old Emmanuel Andrade, from Caracas, Venezuela.
Andrade won the award based on points accumulated on the 12 weeks of competition during the 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival. Riders under 25 were eligible to participate with points aggregated from participation in FEI sanctioned classes. Runners-up included American riders Abigail McArdle in second place, Jessica Springstein in third place and Hermès Partner Riders Lillie Keenan and Daniel Bluman in fourth and fifth place respectively.
The award was presented on Saturday, March 28 during the Parade of Champions on the final day of The 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. As the recipient of the Hermès Talented Young Rider Award, Emmanuel Andrade received a mini Hermès Steinkraus saddle as well as a Hamptons Presentation Rug. The debut award, presented in 2014, was claimed by 25 year old Alexander Zetterman from Sweden.
A private celebration was held on March 6th in Wellington, Florida in recognition of the Hermès Talented Young Rider Award and in the presence of Hermès partner riders from the U.S., U.K., France and Brazil. Le Saut Hermès CSI 5* Show Jumping event at the Grand Palais in Paris, will take place April 10-12, 2015.
