Style has come alive for H&S columnist Alexa Pessoa this season at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. In addition to writing “Life of Pessoa”, her bi-monthly column for H&S, Alexa maintains a personal wordpress blog that chronicles her global travels as a multi-tasking full time mom to 2-year-old Sophia, amateur rider and wife to show jumping star Rodrigo Pessoa.
Nicknamed Mouse, Sophia accompanies the Pessoas to horse shows around the world, and Alexa’s blog is aptly called Mouse Makes Three. While Rodrigo’s busy schedule keeps the family on the move for most of the year, from January through April the Pessoas happily call Wellington home. Read about the joys of not traveling while spending the winter months under the Florida sun in Alexa’s latest column on page 32 of the February/March H&S.
And now, Alexa has channeled her creative energy into a new children’s clothing store on the Winter Equestrian Festival grounds. Mouse Makes Three (the store) opened last week during Week 5 of WEF, and Alexa quickly sold out of popular items. From onesies to rain boots she handpicks every item that fills the small, cozy space on the busy walkway that encircles the International Ring. With a bubble machine going and champagne bubbles icing last Saturday night, Mouse Makes Three was impossible to pass without stopping in and taking a peek.
Check out just a few examples of the adorable pieces that make up the goods of Mouse Makes Three, and if you’re at the Winter Equestrian Festival this season, be sure to stop in and say hello to one of our favorite H&S writers!
