The riders and horses are in France, the warmup class is in the books, and on Friday, April 18th, the 2014 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final will begin!
So fire up your computers, Apple TV, iPads or even your phones, and get ready to cheer on the rider of your choice. If you’re any kind of show jumping fan, you’ve already cleared your calendar for the next four days, researched start times, calculated time differences down to the minute, and bookmarked all relevant livestreaming links.
Wait, you haven’t done all that?
Well, you’re in luck. This show jumping nerd has taken the time to do that and more. Read on for your programming guide to the 2014 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final.
Step one: Look no further than FEItv. Their YouTube channel is streaming the CSI2* and CSI3* grand prix classes live and free. And www.feitv.com is broadcasting every round of the Final via their subscription-based service for $34.99.
Step two: Were you about to post a whiney comment about how livestreaming should be free? That’s fine, head on over to twitter to “watch” via live tweeting during each round. Have fun with that.
If you’re still reading, hear this: I will go on record and say that FEItv presents fantastic broadcasts with great commentary, instant replay, and super high quality video. Last year I watched Round II of the WCF from my iPad while riding in a taxi, running through an airport and boarding a plane. Yes that really happened, yes I am that person, and no I was not going to miss Beezie’s round for anything. Bottom line: it’s well worth the money.
Moving on. Once you’re all squared away with FEItv, the next step is tackling the time change.
Lyon, France (CET) is 6 hours ahead of the East Coast (EST), and 9 hours ahead of California (PST). If you live somewhere in the middle, do the math from there.
