PRESS RELEASE – Paris, FR, November 30, 2019 – The house of Hermès, which has organized the level 5 (CSI 5*) international show-jumping trials since 2010, is reasserting its ambition to host a high-level sporting event and to bring the horse to the heart of Paris.

Thanks to a fruitful history with its partner riders, GL events – an international events management group specializing in equestrian events – and the Grand Palais, Hermès affirms its commitment to horse riding and equestrian sports by organizing the tenth edition of the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais.

March 22–24, 2019, the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais, a CSI 5* competition – the highest category classified by the Fédération française d’équitation (FFE) and the Fédération équestre internationale (FEI) – will bring together the world’s 50 best riders and 20 international promising riders under the glass roof of the Grand Palais.

The world-renowned Spanish course designer Santiago Varela Ullastres will design the competition’s 10 trials, assisted by French course designer Grégory Bodo in close collaboration with rider Michel Robert, sporting advisor for the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais.

Each day, a trial of the “Talents Hermès”, created in 2011 in a spirit of skills sharing that is so dear to Hermès, will see twenty international rising stars aged under 25 compete against each other, supported by riders on the CSI 5* circuit.

For the third year running, an evening event will see riders compete in the “24 Faubourg” speed trial on Saturday March 23rd .

The Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais is also an opportunity to celebrate the horse, the “first customer” of the Parisian house. In addition to the competition, the 16,000 visitors will be invited to discover an all-new show, as well as a number of joyful equestrian-themed activities in the galleries of the historic Parisian venue.
